On the way home we stopped again at the vape shop and I bought more supplies, I have been tobacco free since September, 2014. By the end of the week I was only vaping. On day three I only vaped and had no cigarettes with me while sightseeing. On day two, I did the the same thing but, took three cigarettes. When we arrived at our destination and settled in I decided to only smoke when I was outside and limit myself to five cigarettes. I vaped some on the drive to our destination and smoked at every rest stop. Armed with my cigarettes and my new vape we hit the road. I bought my first beginner vape products. I was skeptical, I had tried vape products many years ago when they first came out and they were absolutely awful. It was a week before a road trip and my partner (a non-smoker) suggested going to a vape shop. I was a pack and a half smoker for over 35 years. However, the addiction didnвЂ™t go away, and there were many occasions where I simply had to vape. Fortunately there were options in the market for high-VG juices, and even PG-free ones. When I hit 50/50 juices, my throat would burn and even clog a little bit. In this process, I found out that I was allergic to PG (propylene glycol).

In this sense I can say IвЂ™m grateful for Chicago winters! But the transition was easier than I thought it would be, and I managed to stay vaping for two years. I was forced to do it, in a way, because I couldnвЂ™t smoke inside my apartment and going outside for a smoke, during winter, was awful. I managed to stay smoke free for a few days without smoking, but then came the weekend and attending bars, and the push was hard.ДЇortunately, 10 years later, I managed to substitute the cigarettes with vaping. The first thought that I had was that I needed a cig. I got this anxiety climbing up on me every time I had a sip of beer. I tried several times, but the worst cringe, unsurprisingly, occurred when I was drinking alcohol. Even though I wasnвЂ™t a heavy smoker, it was very difficult to quit the habit.
